The Card

Fourteen games tip Tuesday night, and the model is hunting totals. We're projecting meaningful separation on three over/unders where the books seem slightly off — most notably Vancouver at Anaheim, where we see a full half-goal cushion above the 6.5 line. The Canucks have hemorrhaged goals through a 2-10-1 start, and Anaheim's been in track meets at home.

The prop market offers slim edges on long-shot defensemen, but one name stands out: Kirill Kaprizov at plus money. Minnesota's superstar has scored in 8 of his last 10 and carries a two-game goal streak into Utah. The model gives him better than a coin flip to light the lamp, and we're getting paid like he's a 43% proposition. That's the kind of mispricing we chase.

VAN/ANA Over 6.5

Model: 7.0 | Line: 6.5 | Model Prob: 55.7% | Implied: 48.8% | EV: +14.2%

Vancouver arrives in Anaheim on a five-game losing streak, surrendering an average of 4.6 goals across those defeats. The Canucks have been porous defensively all season — their 2-10-1 record tells that story — and now face a Ducks squad that just put four past Boston's elite goaltending. The model projects 3.0 for Vancouver, 4.1 for Anaheim, giving us a 7.0 total against a 6.5 market number.

Recent form supports high scoring. Anaheim's last five have included a 5-4 win in Philly and three losses where they allowed 3+ goals each. Vancouver's last five featured five losses with scores of 3-2 OT, 4-2, 6-3, 5-2, and 4-2. That's an average combined total of 7.6 goals per game. The over has hit in 6 of Vancouver's last 10 road games (L10 form: 60%).

Best odds: +105 at Unibet. We're getting paid on a projection that sees this clearing seven.

LA/CHI Under 6

Model: 5.8 | Line: 6 | Model Prob: 53.6% | Implied: 47.6% | EV: +12.7%

Los Angeles and Chicago meet in a classic under spot. The model projects 3.1 for the Kings, 2.8 for Chicago, giving us 5.8 total against a 6.0 line. Both teams have played low-event hockey lately — LA's last five games averaged 5.8 total goals, while Chicago's recent stretch includes losses of 4-0, 4-1, and 3-2.

The Kings are 3-5-2 but have tightened up defensively, allowing just 4 goals total in their last two wins (4-1 over Boston, 5-2 at Washington). Chicago sits 3-8-0 and has struggled to generate offense outside of their 5-3 win over Pittsburgh. The Blackhawks scored 2 or fewer in four of their last five before that anomaly.

Form supports the under: L5 hit rate is unavailable in the data, but the projection-to-line gap is clear. Chicago's missing Bowen Byram on the blue line, which could tighten things further.

Best odds: +110 at Unibet. Plus money on a model projection sitting two-tenths below the number.

BOS/CAR Over 6

Model: 6.5 | Line: 6 | Model Prob: 57.0% | Implied: 51.2% | EV: +11.3%

Boston (9-2-1) visits Carolina (9-2-2) in a showcase between two of the league's best offensive clubs. The model projects 3.1 for the Bruins, 3.4 for the Hurricanes, landing at 6.5 against a market line of 6.0. Boston just steamrolled through a West Coast trip, posting 4-2, 4-1, and 6-0 wins in three of their last five. Carolina counters with a 3-2 win in Winnipeg and a 6-3 drubbing of Vancouver in their recent stretch.

Both teams push pace. Boston's averaging 4.0 goals per game over their last five, while Carolina's last five feature totals of 5, 5, 9, 11, and 4 (average: 6.8). The Bruins have cleared 6 total goals in 4 of their last 10 games. Carolina's missing Alexander Nikishin and Mark Jankowski, but their offensive depth remains intact.

The line moved down slightly, suggesting some sharp money on the under, but our model still sees value at -105 on Unibet. We're laying a small price on a half-goal edge.

Kirill Kaprizov 1+ Goals

Model Prob: 51.3% | Implied: 43.7% | EV: +17.5%

Kaprizov is on fire. He's scored in 8 of his last 10 games (80% L5, 70% L10, 60% L20), averaging a full goal per game over that stretch. He enters Tuesday on a two-game goal streak (1-1-0-1-1 in his last five) and has torched Utah before, scoring in 2 of 3 career meetings (67% H2H hit rate).

The model gives him a 51.3% chance to score — better than a coin flip — and the market is pricing him at 43.7% implied. That's an 8-point edge, and we're getting +129 on Underdog for the privilege. Minnesota (8-3-2) faces Utah (8-4-0) in what the model projects as a tight 3.1-3.2 game, but Kaprizov's individual firepower stands out.

This is one of the few props where recent form, projection, and price all align. At plus money, we're happy to ride the hottest stick in the league.

Best odds: +129 at Underdog.

How We'd Play It

Straight bets are the cleanest approach: 1 unit each on VAN/ANA over 6.5 and LA/CHI under 6, then 0.75 units on BOS/CAR over 6 and Kaprizov anytime goal. The totals carry double-digit EV and strong projection edges; Kaprizov offers plus-money upside with elite recent form.

If you like parlays, a two-leg totals parlay (VAN/ANA over + LA/CHI under) pays roughly +320 at most books. The model supports both, and combining opposing totals hedges against a league-wide pace shift. Add Kaprizov as a third leg only if you're comfortable with long-shot variance.

Pass if: Vancouver/Anaheim drops to 6 (line movement would kill our edge), or if Kaprizov sits (check lineups 90 minutes before puck drop). Also pass on the under if Chicago's total climbs to 6.5 — we need that full half-goal cushion. The model likes these four because the math works today. If the market corrects, we wait for tomorrow.
